Legitimate Defense, Terror, and Martyrdom-Seeking Operations in Shiism

This essay focuses on religious arguments and Shiite intra-religion approaches toward legitimate defense, terror and martyrdom operations. Shiite jurisprudence pays special attention to at least making clear political-defensive behaviors of the communities. But it categorizes martyrdom operations under Defensive Jihad and clarifies scope and conditions of legitimate defense measures. However, Shiite defense strategy has got significant prohibited limitations: prohibition of terror and violation of treaty and conventions. This essay has articulated Shiite jurisprudence approaches through explanation of these limitations.
