Tum-taking in drama refers to the interaction between two or more participants in which they bring to the conversational process shared assumptions and expectations about what it is, how it develops, and the sort of contribution they expect to make. The actors, who are the controllers of the conversational tum-taking process, try to use various tactical devices to attract the attention of the listeners expressing their feeling and emotions explaining certain matters. In 1974, Sacks, Schegloff and Jefferson designed a model for the organization of tum-taking in English conversation by native speakers. This model is called a simplest systematics for the organization of turn-taking for conversation. This study is highly dependent on this model for the analysis of tum-taking in Hamlet and Death of a Salesman Thus, the present study a1ms at investigating tumtaking in general , focusing on their pragmatic behavior inparticular.
