Effect of Low Temperatures (-196 °C) On the Hematopoitic Stem Cells Viability (direct storage of stem cells in liquid nitrogen).

The stem cells viability was estimated post storage in liquid nitrogen (direct storage).The studied parameters were the effect of direct storage in liquid nitrogen and the effect of duration of the storage in liquid nitrogen (one day, three days, seven days, thirty days and forty five days). Twenty volunteers persons were enrolled in this research ,thirteen ml of stem cells (2.6*106 cell/ml) was collected from each person using blood cells separators device .blood samples were mixed with plasma and DMSO solution to produce five cryotube (samples).samples placed directly in liquid nitrogen container. After thawing the samples, it is found that the period of storage and the storagement (direct) in liquid nitrogen had significant effect on the viability of stem cells. .
