Shell Correction in Bohr and Bethe Formulas

The Shell correction (-c I z2) to electronic stopping power determined using kinetic theory of stopping, it was calculated using stopping numbers of Bohr and Bethe formulas, and a comparison between Bohr and Bethe shell corrections for different targets was made together with availab le experement the results with the experimental evaluation of the shell correction. It is concluded that the Bohr and Bethe shell corrections are not equivalent, Bohr formulation gives larger shell correction and there are some differences in experimental and theoretical evaluation of shell correction.
