The effect of Fenugreek seeds and Carbimazol on testes in Albino mice

This study aimed to identify the effect of both the seeds of Fenugreek and Carbimazole In the histological and functional struction for the white mice testes.20 mice were used and divided into four equal groups. The first group was administrated Carbimazole orally with a dose of (0.1 mg/kg) for 28 days. The second group was administrated a dose of ( 0.02 mg/kg) of fenugreek solution twice a day for 28 days and the third group was administrated (carbimazole + fenugreek) solution together with the same dose of the first and second groups for 28 days. In addition the fourth group was used as a control group. At end of administrated period, animals were weighted and killed to obtain blood samples in order to identify the changes in the level of thyroid hormones T3,T4 as well as testosterone. After that the testes have been evaluated and plant in Bouins solution to study the histological struction.The results showed as follows: 1- reducing in the level of hormone T3,T4 and testosterone in the blood serum of the cabimazoles animals group.2- increasing in the level of T4 hormone, decreasing T3 in each of animals administrated fenugreek and (fenugreek +carbimazole) together, while testosterone decreased.The histological study by optical microscope showed the following: 1- the decrease of T3,T4 level with carbimazole causes changes in testes tissue which has been noted non significant increase p 0.05 in the rate of seminiferous tubules of testes.2- administration of fenugreek causes a significant increase p 0.05 in the rate of seminiferous tubules of testes.
