Criticality Importance Measure and the Increase of System Reliability through Active Redundancy

One of the important problems in reliability is “how to design better systems”. As known, active redundancy is a technique can be used for improving system reliability “makes it better”. If the system under usage is composed of different components, then we will have different improvements in the reliability of this system when we add active redundancy to its components. In this paper, we investigate the effect of active redundancy upon system reliability when applied at various places and in various systems. In our work, we study the problem of how to choose components for active redundancy. Some results are given, our results depend on component criticality importance also some examples are presented.
