The Coupled Action of adding Benzophenone and irradiating by UV. Rays on optical properties ofpoly (vinyl chloride-co-vinyl acetate)

The changes of optical properties due to adding Benzophenone(BPH) on the poly (vinyl chloride-co- vinyl acetate), and irradiating this composite by ultraviolet ray were studied. The photo degradation rate was measured by the increase in hydroxyl absorbance (I.R spectrophotometry) .Transmittance spectra have been recorded in order to determine absorption coefficient and kind of transition .The optical constants such as refractive index, real and imaginary part of dielectric constant have also been studied. It was seen that all the parameters under investigation affected by adding (BPH) and irradiation with UV. Rays.
