This paper explores the humanistic values that are embodied in Ernest Heming ways writings particularly, The Old Man and the Sea and A Farewell to Arms. The most common values are patience, fortitude, dignity, humanity, honour, pride, and friendship. The Old Man and the Sea is full of such these values throughout the events of the novella especially in the three-day struggle between Santiago and the marlin. In A Farewell to Arms, the gloomy suffering and the devastation of the war are compensated by the hope of Frederick and Catherine and their true love in the midst of the war and its tragedies. It also shows humanity and the true friendship between Henry Frederick and Rinaldi.
