Time-averaged circulation pattern of solids in a two dimensional gas solid fluidized bed

A two fluid model (TFM) was employed to study the time-averaged flow pattern of solids in a pseudo two dimensional gas solid fluidized bed. The time-averaged particle flow patterns show two vortices at the top half of the bed at low superficial gas velocities. These vortices develop from the top to the bottom of the bed at higher superficial gas velocities. The effect of particle physical parameters on circulation patterns of solids were also studied in this work.
