A Multi-Objective Approach for Locating Public Facilities

The decision of where to locate public facilities depends on a set of criteria. This paper presents a multiple criteria modeling approach to public facilities location problem that involves conflicting objectives. Considered objective functions are: maximizing covering, minimizing fixed cost and annual operating cost and minimizing average travel time. The compromise programming method is applied to solve the proposed model. Finally, the applicability of the model is illustrated via a numerical example and a sensitivity analysis is represented
