In this paper we introduce the exponentiated Weibull-Poisson
(EWP) distribution, which is obtained by compounding exponentiatedWeibull
and zero truncated Poisson distribution. This distribution contains several
lifetime models such as: generalized exponential-Poisson (GEP), complementary
Weibull-Poisson (GWP), complementary exponential-Poisson
(CEP), exponentiated Rayleigh-Poisson (ERP) and Rayleigh-Poisson (RP)
distributions as a special case.
The hazard rate function of the EWP distribution can be decreasing
and unimodal among others. We obtain several properties of the EWP
distribution such as model, moments and R´enyi and Shannon entropies.
