The impact of internationalization on Iran’s higher education

Today’s world is going to be internationalized in every aspect to meet the ends of internationalization. Internationalization of higher education is considered as an efficient strategy to fulfill the various needs of the international community. To gain this aim, universities as one of the bases of internationalization, play significant roles in preparing efficient and professional citizens in today’s diverse world. In this case, Iran‘s universities are not exceptions. This article as a case study tries to investigate the condition of Iran’s higher education to know how it has been shaped by internationalization. As an argumentative study, at first, the standards of internalization are discussed and then Iran’s higher education is evaluated against each one. It is concluded that Iran still is in the beginning of the way and constructive solutions and suggestions should be proposed to make Iran’s universities closer to the internationalization aims.
