A greenhouse dose response pot experiment was conducted to determine the impact of dust on the efficacy of paraquat for control of wild mustard weed. A factorial experiment (paraquat dosage× dust concentration) was arranged based on a completely randomized design with three replications. Seedlings of wild mustard were sprayed with paraquat at nine doses (0, 0, 74.5, 150,300, 450, 600, 900, 1200, 2400 g ai.ha-1), while treated with and without dust (0 and 1500 µg/m3). Paraquat efficacy for control of wild mustard was reduced significantly by dust treatment. In presence of dust, the paraquat dose reducing 50% of wild mustard biomass was increased c. 3-fold.
