Gas hydrate formation induction time is an important parameter in hydrate formation kinetics. Hydrate nucleation is probabilistic in nature, so measurement of the induction time is difficult and usually is not repeatable. In this communication, Natarajan, Kashchiev, and Rasoolzadeh models have been used to predict, at first, the hydrate formation induction time of pure methane and then for the natural gas system in the presence of Polyvinylpyrrolidone, PVP, and Polyvinylcaprolactam, PVCap. A modified subcooling temperature was introduced for obtaining better results of the model developed by Rasoolzadeh et al. Parameters of each model have been fitted with experimental data. Results show that the Rasoolzadeh model has a satisfactory representation of the experimental data.
