An Overview to Oil Filter Module Design in Engine Family throughModularity Design Approach

Modularity is a key issue nowadays in industry. Although it is not a new issue, it has growing in importance in recent years in the auto industry. The aim of this paper is to describe the "Oil Filter / Water Pump / Oil Cooler" design procedure in Modularity point of view. This component is designed for 1st Bi-Fuel Iranian Engine Family, hereafter called "Module" briefly. So an overview to definition of Modularity Design and its requirements are mentioned priory. Modularity advantages and disadvantages are also explained from OEM and supplement point of view. By defined the main criteria of Modularity Design the "Module" is evaluated as the main conclusion.
