    Electrospun polycaprolactone-henna nanofibers as a platform for antibacterial activity

    Several approaches have been used to produce nanofibers with antibacterial materials[1,2,3]. In the current study, the Polycaprolactone (PCL)-henna nanofibers were manufactured via electrospinning method. In so doing, PCL and henna were dissolved in a mixed solvent of dichloromethane/methanol, and then, electrospun was conducted. Subsequently, the surface morphology and compositionof the PCL-henna nanofibers were analyzed by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Fourier Transforms Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, respectively. Afterwards, antibacterial properties of PCL-henna electrospun nanofibers were performed using disc diffusion method. The findings of this study indicated that the PCL-henna nanofibers produced the highest zone of inhibition on Salmonella enteritidis (8 mm), and Staphylococcus aureus(10 mm) at 50 μg/ml.
