In this article, design of an integrated silicon based
phase modulator is considered. The nonlinearity is achieved by
employing an electro-optic polymer (EO polymer). The design is
based on the Pockels effect. The impact of the waveguide design
on the half wave voltage is investigated and it is shown that this
parameter greatly influences the Vπ. A Vπ =2.81V for the
modulator length of 1cm is achieved with Vπ.L=0.281 mm.V that
shows a significant improvement compared to previous results.
