Robot-Aided Automation for Casting Powder Feeding

This paper introduces an automatic casting powder feeding device. It adopts closed-loop control, which is supplemented with several components to allow operation in a steel plant, such as a standard 6-axis industrial robot, a robot moving platform, a powder supplying system, a safety protection system, several detection systems, and the controller system. With a combination of these components, the automatic feeding device can make the feeding process more stable and uniform, to improve quality control.
