Clinoptilolite was pretreated by mechanical ball-mill method to obtain nanoparticles and it was
modified by DMG. The raw and modified samples were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, SEM,
BET, TG-DTG and energy dispersive analysis X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). The modified
Clinoptilolite nano-particles with DMG (NClino-DMG) were used for the modification of
carbon paste electrode (NClin-DMG-CPE). The modified electrode was then used for
voltammetric determination of Ni(II) in aqueous solution. To determine the interaction of
experimental parameters, response surface methodology (RSM) was used. The effects of some
key operating parameters such as: zeolite particle size, nature and concentration of the
supporting electrolytes, pH of solution, electrode ingredients and potential scan rate on the
voltammetric behavior of the modified electrode were studied.
