One-pot synthesis of amidoalkylnaphthols by using of Nano TiO2/SiO2 as an efficient and recyclable heterogeneous catalyst

An efficient synthesis of amidoalkylnaphthols using nano TiO2/SiO2 as a biodegradable catalyst is described. It involves the three-component reaction of 2-naphthol, aldehydes and amides/urea/thio urea in the presence of catalytic amount of nano TiO2/SiO2under thermal solvent-free conditions. This simple protocol offer advantages such as shorter reaction times, simple work-up, excellent yield, and recovery and reusability of the catalyst.
