Discrete and Inverse Weighted Transform for Compression or Decompression of Gray Images

In this paper, direct and inverse weighted transform of a continuous function with two variables is introduced and approximation properties of the inverse weighted transform are described. A method of lossy image compression and reconstruction on the basis of weighted transform is illustrated. Under the same compression rate, we compare the Peak Signal to Noise Ratio of gray images obtained by the weighted transform method and the fuzzy transform method
