A Semiotic Approach to the Numberical Signs of Quran

This research tries to interpret some of mysterious numbering signsin Quran on the basis of a semiotic approach .These signs have deep concepts and are required to be deciphered. There are many numbers in Quran serving as signs which convey particular concepts. These numbers are basically well-known as “Quranic signs”. Thus, this study aims to extract some of these numbering signs which are mostly served as metaphor. As semiotics is fundamentally concerned with the construction and interpretation of any sign system, it offers a comprehensive method for the signification of signs by considering Saussurean models. There is still room for the signification of numbering signs. According to this approach, the findings indicate that rhetorical textualization of Quran is a kind of symbolization, which gives a poetic feature to its content.
