SiO2@MgFe2O4: Potential Application for preparing black glass

The SiO2@CuFeCrO4 pigment was prepared using a facile sol–gel process. It was characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and diffuse reflection spectroscopy. The SiO2@CuFeCrO4 pigment was used to prepare black glaze. Coating on the soda lime glass was sintered at 650 °C for 1 h and the obtained sample presented excellent color properties (L* = 15.80, a* = 2.1, b* = –3.8).
