Once people believed that our origin was from God. At some point evolved man came to trust himself to be god, self-endowed with power to elicit or extinct life. Progress in biomedicine encountered that dangerous moral background . the paper attempts to discuss the effects of materialism upon biomedical sciences through evaluating from a scientific and moral perspective issues applicable to man in modern gene technology. Moral evaluation was attempted mainly from on Orthodox Chirstian perspective but Islamic and Jewish perspective were also cited.
