In this paper, a new hybrid piezoelectric/magnetic linear motor is presented. Piezo-magnetic motor consists of slider, stator, and rotor. This piezo-magnetic motor is based on inchworm motion principle. The piezoelectric linkage moves slider forward or backward and the magnetic linkage is the connection between piezoelectric and slider. Because of the power of the magnetic linkage and by using properly the piezoelectric device with micro movement, this linear motor has precision and potency simultaneously. The presented motor is simulated in finite element software and its operation is investigated. The piezo-magnetic linear motor worked with about 60-volt pp and by changing the frequency of voltage that induced to piezoelectric linkages, the velocity of linear motor is controlled.
