A New Simple Model for Wind Turbines Grounding System

: Wind turbines attract especial attention as renewable energy resources and one of the main issues of them is grounding system. Step and touch voltages are two main parameters of a grounding system. Common way to reduce these two parameters is using distributed mesh network under ground of substation, but wind turbines grounding system are different and limited area. In this paper, the grounding system of an individual wind turbine will be analyzed and a simple grounding system will be proposed instead of the complicated grounding system. an‎d then, the impact of connection of wind turbines grounding system on a wind farm will be analyzed. In this paper, the CYMGRD software has been used which is based 7 on the method described in Ref. [ ] for grounding systems analysis. The actual specifications of the MANJIL wind turbines are used for evaluation of the proposed grounding system.
