Investigation of Corrosion Phenomenon in Boilers of Phase 1 of South Pars Gas Complex

Steam, which is usually produced in boilers, is one of the essential requirements for oil and gas refineries operations. One of the main problems which boilers are usually encountered to is corrosion which cost industry billions of dollars per year. The main objective of this paper is to investigate corrosion phenomenon in boilers of Phase 1 of South Pars Gas Complex. As there are many factors affecting boiler corrosion, finding the main causes of corrosion is very hard. Study the history of boilers can be helpful in this regard. The results indicate that boilers are in a high risky manner when they are out of servise. So preservation method is a key factor along out of service duration.
