In this paper, a non-operational processor units
detection and remapping algorithms named local
swap(LS) is proposed. LS can be used to tolerate faulty
processing elements in NoC. In contrast to existing
methods namely- adaptive routing, flooding, error
control coding and adaptive application remapping,
LS first tries to find the faulty processing units. After
detection, it will remap the IP cores which have
communications with the IP core mapped to the faulty
nodes. To evaluate the result, we use the benchmarks
from TGFF[9]. Our experiments show that LS can
save up to 8% power compared to other existing
remapping algorithms. It is also observed that when
the number of IP core becomes large, the power saving
of LS over AR becomes more significant.
