    Doping transition metals into Mn-Co spinel oxide (MCO) could improve conductivity and bonding of coated interconnects applied for solid oxide fuel cells. In the present study, Cux(Mn, Co)3-xO4 (x=0, 0.2 and 0.4) nanostructured coatings were deposited on SUS 430 alloy via electrophoretic deposition. Cathodic electrophoretic deposition was carried out at constant DC voltage of 60 V for 1 min. The Cu-doped MCO coating acted as a barrier for evaporation and migration of Cr-containing species from interconnect which is effective in preventing chromium volatilization from interconnect alloys in solid oxide fuel cells. The phase and microstructure of Cu-doped MCO coatings were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) equipped with EDS analysis. Long-term non-isothermal oxidation experiments for area specific resistance (ASR) measurements were investigated. The results of ASR test showed that doping of Cu as a transition metal dopant into MCO improves electrical conductivity after 1000 h oxidation in 800oC.
