VF2V: A Novel Framework for Next Generation TVs, Based on VRML

Interactive TV uses the Internet technology to deliver interactive and collaborative applications to the users. These applications can be implemented for many different reasons such as communication, electronic commerce and entertainment. The combination of the interactive TV and e-commerce formed T-Commerce. T-Commerce is the use of TV for commerce and it includes retailing, exchanging, buying, selling and etc. For implementing these applications on TVs, introducing a new framework to isolate T-Commerce models and strategies is needed. In this paper, we present a novel four-layer framework called VF2V for T-Commerce, based on virtual reality modeling language (VRML). This framework provides simple implementation for a lot of different interactive platform independent applications on TVs.
