The Effects of Soil Amendments on the Efficiency of Agricultural Cropping Systems

The current move of farmig systems has called for the use of natural zeolites to replace chemical substances in crop and animal production. Zeolites can be used as an ecological alternative to the expensive and insecure for human health chemical fertilizers. Remineralization of soil using natural zeolite has been shown to cause a phenomenal growth of the microorganisms in the soil, increases nutrient intake of plants, reduce effects of soil acidity; prevent soil erosion and increase storage capacity of soil as well as contributing to the building of precious humus complexes. The use of zeolite in agriculture can retain heavy metals and do not let them pass from roots to final product and ground water.
