Photodegradation of Safranin-o by TiO2-ZSM-5 photocatalyst

Titanium oxide of 2,5,10 and 15wt% was supported on H-ZSM-5 zeolite using solid state dispersion (SSD) method. The photocatalytic activity of these systems in the degradation of safranin-o indicates that TiO2 / HZSM-5 is an active photocatalyst for degradation of dye; the optimum photodegradation activity is observed at 10wt% of TiO2/HZSM-5. Based on this result, immobilized [TiO2/HZSM-5] can be used in treatments of water containing safranin-o.
