Crack propagation analysis on slag pot carriers in Sarcheshme copper complex

Slag pot carriers with hundreds of units in operation locations around the world, are one of the most essential machines in high capacity factories which produce slag. Some critical areas of common slag pot carriers are exposed to fatigue crack growth. In this study, the fatigue crack growth behavior of slag-pot carriers is investigated as high cycle and under first-mode loading condition. The investigation is done both in case of using FRANC2D software and theoretical formulas. The part which is analyzed for crack propagation is one of the fins in internal surface of the arc of chassis and the critical length of cracks is measured.
