The interaction effect of the photoperiod (12:12 and 24:0) and three levels of carbon dioxide (0.03%, 5%, and 10% CO2) were investigated in the Haematocuccus pluvialis. Based on the results, the highest growth, stabilization of CO2, and biomass production was observed at 5% and 10% CO2 in H. pluvialis in the 24-hour photoperiod. The highest lipid content was significantly obtained in the 24:0 photoperiod (43.58±1.77%) without any injection of CO2 (0.03%) in the culture medium (p 0.05). Also, the highest and the lowest protein contents were obtained in 10% CO2 and the photoperiods 24:0 (15.12%) and 12:12 (7.48%) respectively (p 0.05). The highest total carbohydrate content was measured at 10% CO2 and 12:12 photoperiod in H. pluvialis, but the value of carbohydrate double increased in the 24-photoperiod in the presence of 5% and 10% CO2.
