Intonational properties of focusing and topicalization in Persian language

Based in the field of discourse, focus and topic are concepts which aspects’ can be analyzed through grammar, morphology and phonetics. In this study these two concepts are to be analyzed from viewpoints of intonation and stress in the framework of Autosegmental Phonology. In addition to describing pitch pattern, results show that topic is not necessarily followed by a pause and different kinds of focus, informative and contrastive are different in special parameters of pitch patterns.
