    This paper presents an optimal design of the inner rotor pole in a radial flux reluctance magnetic gear (RRMG), which features simple, robust structure and lower cost than its traditional PM radial flux magnetic gear. In this paper, the outer PM rotor is kept stationary while the inner reluctance rotor and intermediate modulators will be rotate as input and output shafts, respectively. In such RRMG designs, cogging torque plays crucial role as the inner rotor is under duress of consistent rotational forces. Furthermore, optimization of inner rotor needs to be thoroughly investigated to reduce the cogging torque and to maximize torque density. The rotor pole span and rotor pole length will be optimized, with the goal of improving torque density. Different skew methods are applied on inner rotor to reduce the cogging torque in a conceptual RRMG. The optimal design analysis will be done by means of transient 3D finite element analysis.
