to evaluate the factors affecting the pollutant migration from a natural or engineered municipal solid waste MSW landfills through homogeneous underlying saturated soils and into the groundwater aquifers a two dimensional sensitivity analiysis was performed the two dimensional advective diffusive dispersive contaminant transport program MIGRATE v9 was utilized in the analyses in this study the effect of some key parameters on the maximum pollution concentration at the base of the landfill and the time required to reach this concentration was examined using a hypothetical landfill with geometrical specifications similar to that of a typical existing landfills.
