Advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) are attractive alternatives to non-destructive physical water treatment processes,
such as adsorption on activated carbon, flocculation and electrocoagulation, air stripping or desorption and membrane
processes. The last techniques merely transport contaminants from one phase to another causing secondary pollution
and requiring further treatment, whereas AOPs are able to mineralize aqueous organic contaminants. In this work, for
more studying about the application of AOPs for water and wastewater treatment on an industrial scale, we have
described the performance of a tubular continuous–flow photoreactor with supported TiO2 catalyst by heat attachment
method on glass plate. The removal efficiency of 4-Nitrophenol (4-NP) as a model organic contaminant was tested in
continuous-flow photoreactor at different operational parameters. The removal efficiency of 4-NP depend on the
operational parameters such as photoreactor length, liquid volumetric flow rate, gas volumetric flow rate, initial
pollutant concentration and initial pH of solution.
