Nanofluids showed a large enhancement of thermal conductivity in comparison with their basefluids. The measured
thermal conductivities of SiO2 nanofluids are higher than those calculated with Hamilton–Crosser model due to
neglecting solid–liquid interaction at the interface. The results show that the thermal conductivity enhancement of
nanofluids depends on the thermal conductivities of both particles and the base fluid.
In this paper,TiO2, SiO2, andAl2O3 nanofluids were prepared in a two-step procedure by dispersing nanoparticles in a
basefluid. The transient hot wire method was exploited for the measurement of thermal conductivity. The thermal
conductivities of TiO2,SiO2 and Al2O3 nanofluids were studied and compared with each other.
