The removal of carbon monoxide by bio trickling filter

Solubility of carbon monoxide in water is very important for its biological oxidation or removal process of gaseous pollutants. The purpose of this work is to investigate the effect of system’s pressure on enhance the solubility of carbon monoxide in the liquid phase and its removal process by a bio filter. The results are considered as laboratory research on carbon monoxide elimination. This method is used to pressurize trickling filter to increase pressure in the reactor. When system’s pressure increase, the solubility of carbon monoxide will also increase that caused to have a better reaction of the microorganisms for eliminating gaseous pollutants. The results were improved significantly by increasing the pressure in the reactor.
