A finite mixture model is a widely acknowledged model based clustrering method for analyzing data. In this paper, a new finite mixture model via an extension of the Birnbaum Saunders distribution based on skew slash normal is introduced and its characterizations, properties, submodels are studied. Also the maximum likelihood estimation of the parameters via ECM-algorithm are discussed.
