يكي از اهداف مهم در عصر شكوفايي علوم نوين افزايش امنيت غذايي در پي رشد جمعيت و ازياد مصرف سرانه مي‌باشد. رشد سريع جمعيت نياز به توليدات كشاورزي را افزايش داده و زمينه توسعه‌ي محصولات كشاورزي را فراهم كرده است. استفاده از كودها و سموم شيميايي همواره يكي از اولويت‌هاي بسيار مهم در بهبود فعاليت‌هاي توليد كنندگان محصولات كشاورزي بوده است. مطالعات نشان داده اند كه استفاده زياد و بي‌رويه از اين كودها سبب ايجاد انواع آلودگي در منابع طبيعي و ايجاد بيماري‌هاي مهلك در انسان مي‌شود، در اين راستا به كشاورزي ارگانيك كه بر مبناي استفاده از كودهاي ارگانيك بنا شده است به عنوان يكي از مولفه هاي توسعه ي پايدار كشاورزي و راهكار ارزنده جهت حفاظت از محيط زيست توجه خاصي مبذول شده است. نتايج به دست آمده حاكي از آن است كه كشاورزي ارگانيك با به حداقل رساندن و حذف تدريجي اين سموم و كودهاي شيميايي ضمن كاهش خطرات احتمالي آن‌ها، موجب بالا بردن ارزش و كيفيت محصولات غذايي مي‌شود و به طور كلي ارتقا ايمني غذا به عنوان مهم‌ترين هدف توسعه كشت محصولات ارگانيك عنوان شده است. از اين رو هدف اين مقاله ضرورت استفاده از كودهاي ارگانيك در توليد محصولات غذايي سالم، مشخص نمودن اثرات محيطي و زيستي كودهاي شيميايي، مزاياي كودهاي ارگانيك و ضرورت استفاده از آن‌ها و وضعيت كشاورزي ارگانيك در ايران مي‌باشد

Studies have shown that excessive and indiscriminate use of these fertilizers causes all kinds of pollution in natural resources and causes deadly diseases in humans. In this regard, organic agriculture based on the use of organic fertilizers as one of the components of development Sustainable agriculture and valuable solutions to protect the environment have received special attention. The results indicate that organic agriculture by minimizing and phasing out these toxins and chemical fertilizers while reducing their potential risks, increases the value and quality of food products and generally promotes food safety as the most important development goal. Cultivation of organic crops is charged. Therefore, the purpose of this article is the need to use organic fertilizers in the production of healthy food products, to determine the environmental and biological effects of chemical fertilizers, the benefits of organic fertilizers and the need to use them and the situation of organic agriculture in Iran
