Marun oil field as one of the largest oil fields in the South West of Iran, located in the northeast of Ahwaz. In terms of geology, the field is located in the eastern basin part of the northern Dezful Embayment in the folded - trust Zagros belt. The length of this belt is 2,000 km and has very large hydrocarbon reservoirs so is one of the most productive folded - trust belts in the world. The study of situ stresses in the oil fields is very important due to the impact of the tensions in solving problems such as instability during drilling wells, safe drilling route selection, casing damages, different methods of increasing production and more. In this paper, the effect of Asmari reservoir rock fractures in one of Marun oil field wells was studied using image logs. Finally, according to the logs of processing, can be seen that the maximum and minimum rate of fracture is located in zone 10 and zone 50 respectively. Due to the zone 1 is strongly carbonated; a large number of fractures in this zone are justifiable. On the other hand, due to the high presence of shale and sandstone in zone 50, the lack of fractures was predictable. It was also revealed that the fractures with the highest concentration were located at depths of 3310m-3240m (zone 1), 3460m-3410m (zone 20), 3670m-3540m (zone 30) and 3775m-3740m (zone 40).
