در صورت عدم‌وجود يك سيستم مكانيزه، به‌روز، دقيق و قابل اعتماد در مديريت شبكه‌هاي توزيع آب شهري و مشتركين، مي‌تواند ساليانه خساراتي به شركت‌هاي آب وفاضلاب وارد نمايد. اين موضوع، به‌ويژه در حال حاضر با توجه به مشكلات كمبود آب و وجود هدررفت در شبكه‌هاي توزيع آب شهري از ضروري‌ترين اقدامات جهت پياده‌سازي در شركت‌هاي آب و فاضلاب مي‌باشد. از طرفي ديگر، استفاده از سيستم‌هاي اطلاعات مكاني (GIS) به‌عنوان يكي از پيشرفته‌ترين علوم و فن‌آوري‌هاي اخذ و مديريت بهينه اطلاعات مكان مرجع، به‌منظور مدل‌سازي و مديريت تأسيسات آبرساني، شبكه‌هاي توزيع آب شهري و شبكه‌هاي جمع‌آوري فاضلاب و نحوه مصرف مشتركين با رويكرد كاهش هدررفت واقعي و ظاهري آب كاملأ توجيه‌پذير و كاربردي مي‌باشد. به‌همين دليل، تهيه و بهره‌برداري از سيستم جامع GIS با ساختار كاملأ منطبق بر وب، به‌عنوان يك راه‌كار مطرح مي‌باشد. در اين مقاله قابليت‌ها، امكانات و كاربردهاي سيستم GIS در واحدهاي بهره‌برداري از تأسيسات شركت‌هاي آب و فاضلاب شامل انجام عمليات نشت‌يابي، اصلاح خطوط انتقال و شبكه‌هاي توزيع آب فرسوده، مديريت فشار شبكه‌هاي توزيع آب و بالا بردن سرعت و كيفيت رفع حوادث و اتفاقات و غيره ارائه شده است. به‌نحوي كه بتوان از قابليت‌هاي سيستم GIS به‌عنوان يك زيرساخت تبادل اطلاعات، ارائه خدمات مناسب، با كيفيت و با صرفه‎جويي اقتصادي به‌ويژه در شناسايي و كاهش هدررفت واقعي آب بهره‌برداري نمود.

In the absence of a mechanized, up-to-date, accurate and reliable system in the management of urban water distribution networks and subscribers, it can cause annual losses to water and sewage companies. This issue is one of the most necessary measures to be implemented in water and sewage companies, especially now, considering the problems of water shortage and the existence of wastage in urban water distribution networks. On the other hand, the use of spatial information systems (GIS) as one of the most advanced sciences and technologies for obtaining and optimal management of reference location information, in order to model and manage water supply facilities, urban water distribution networks and wastewater collection networks and the way of consumption of subscribers with the approach of reducing real and apparent water wastage is completely justified and practical. For this reason, the preparation and operation of a comprehensive GIS system with a structure fully compatible with the web is proposed as a solution. In this article, the capabilities, facilities and applications of the GIS system in the operating units of water and sewage companies, including leak detection operations, repair of worn transmission lines and water distribution networks, pressure management of water distribution networks and increasing the speed and. The quality of resolving incidents and events is provided. In such a way that it is possible to use the capabilities of the GIS system as an information exchange infrastructure, providing appropriate, quality and economic services, especially in identifying and reducing actual water wastage.
