In this world of freshwater shortages, industrial wastewater treat has become an inevitable reality. Nanotechnology is undergoing dramatic changes in the use of natural resources, energy and water, and wastewater. New technologies will also enable the recycling and reuse of materials, energy and water, so that the application of nanotechnology in water treatment is of particular importance. Traditional methods of treatment have proven to be inefficient. Technology advancement has resulted in a cutting-edge technology called nanotechnology. Nanoadsorbent, magnetic nanoparticles, nanofiltration, nano-zero-valent iron, nanocatalysts, nanobiocides, nanofibers are products and techniques which are being used in industrial wastewater or otherwise. Nanotechnology has many more applications including converting sea water into fresh water, treatment of food industrial wastewater and other industries.
