خشك‌سالي‌‌هاي پيايي موجب شد تا روستاي كرود از توابع شهرستان طالقان براي تأمين آب شرب در سال 1400 دچار مشكل شود و احتمال مي‌رفت در سال 1401 به‌دليل تداوم خشك‌سالي، تنش آبي تشديد شود. با بررسي‌‌هاي به‌عمل‌آمده و جمع‌آوري اطلاعات و شناخت از محدوده مورد مطالعه مشخص شد كه اين روستا با دو مشكل (1) ايراد در ساختار هيدروليكي و (2) مديريت مصرف، مواجه است. با برداشت از عارضه‌ها و تكميل نقشه تأسيسات اين روستا، شبكه توزيع در نرم‌افزارWater Gems مدل‌سازي شد كه مشخص شد مخزن اين روستا در شرايط فعلي توانايي تأمين آب پايدار مشتركين را دارد و احداث مخزن جديد با توجه به هزينه گزاف در مرحله بعدي بررسي شود. شبكه توزيع روستاي كرود داراي دامن‌هاي به بزرگي 89 متر آب بود كه در اين چنين شبك‌هاي حوادث و نشست، بسيار فراوان است. براي اصلاح و جلوگيري از هدررفت آب دو زون فشاري با نصب سه شير فشارشكن طراحي شد و براي تأمين آب پايدار با نصب تجهيزات كنترلي، روش بازكردن شير‌هاي قطع و وصل با ظرفيت كم‌تر مطرح شد. هم‌چنين براي اصلاح بهتر، دستورات مربوط به مديريت مصرف تبيين و در شوراي روستاي به جهت اجرا، زمان‌بندي شد.
