Novel as a Form to Save the Environment an Ecocritical Reading

As the damages to the environment are irreversible a new epoch to describe the new state of both humanity and environmental agents is created by the name of Anthropocene. As the new epoch was defined, new definitions also have to be created, one of the most important of which is the relationship between humanity and the environment. This new definition advocates for a dynamic relation between the two, as active agents in shaping the world. Such new definitions, and events are however so vast in both scale and time that it is an impossible task for any one study and field to cover it all. Causes for the environmental destruction and newly occurring events such as global warming goes back through the history in time and everywhere in the world in the place continuum. Such complexities are argued in this article can be easier understood by the society through the medium of literature and more specifically novel as a form. Novels are not bound by the rules of a scientific journal for example in exploring cultural, social and religious assumptions of humanity and retracing back those beliefs to the roots of environmental problems as well as possible solutions for a better future for all the living beings in the world.
