Investigation of perceived color difference for tritan pairs

When the only difference between two samples is the response of S cone signals, they are called tritan pairs. In this study, 5 color centers with at least four samples around each center were selected and perceived color difference between each pair was assessed by doing visual tests. It was found that as mentioned in different valuable texts, the perceived color difference is smaller for tritan pairs than deutan pairs (those only the ratio of L cone to M cone signals is different for two samples, in isoluminance condition). In addition, introducing a gap between the sample pairs reduces the visual color difference for deutan pairs more than tritan pairs.
