Aircrafts evaluation for purchasing decision making using fuzzy MCDM

This study applies the fuzzy set theory to evaluate several aircrafts. In the contemporary air transport industry in Iran which is encountering embargo, many factors are becoming increasingly crucial in evaluating and buying aircrafts for internal airlines. A pairwise comparison process is used to help individual decision makers make comparative judgments, and a linguistic rating method is used for making absolute judgments. We invited fuzzy set theory into the measurement of performance. A hierarchical weighting method is developed to assess the weights of evaluation criteria by pairwise comparisons.
