In this study, we have investigated the effect of aluminum oxide (Al2O3) nanoparticles on the properties of fracture behaviour and hardness of epoxy resin. Epoxy/Al2O3 nanocomposites were made prepared at different weight percents of alumina nanoparticles (0-3)wt% by sonication method. The fracture properties were changed significantly at 2wt% alumina The impact strength, flexural modulus and hardness of prepared samples were increased 100%, 17.5% ,5% , respectively.The role of the clay nanoplatelets in the mechanical/fracture properties was investigated
